Let
me tell you about my Father-in-Laws Ruger Single Six. It is a New Model Single Six .22 Cal, a very nice Revolver
in Stainless, Pictured here. The Trigger Pull as originally tested was inconsistent, varying from 3.75 lbs to 4.25 lbs. over the course of
6 pulls. This was a factory fresh gun with less than 100 rounds. Using the Tear Down instructions in the Ruger Video
on this page, I disassembled Dad's Ruger, installed a Wolff #17116 Reduced Power Shooters Pak and my RSA Shim Kit. The results were very good to say the least, 6 pulls and a very consistent 2 lbs. 8 ozs. Thats right, a nice 2
1/2 Pound Trigger Pull, with just an hour of your time, a Wolff RP Shooters Pak and a TriggerShims Brand RSA Shim kit.

Hammer Spring R&R Fixture There are Several Ways to Accomplish Removing and Reinstalling the Hammer Spring, but I wanted to
Show the Simplist Method Possible Here. Take a Small Block of Wood, You Could Even Use Your Bench Top, Drill a 3/16 Diameter
by 3/8 Deep Hole to Anchor Your Hammer Strut, Grasp the Spring Firmly with Your Fingers and Push Down to Relive the Tension
and Remove the Pin. A Thin Leather Glove Helps, as Does Working Quickly. When Reinstalling The Cross Pin, I Found
that on Your First Attempt if You Just Get the Pin Half Way, That Will Allow You to Get a Better Grip, Making Installing It
the Rest of the Way Eaiser.
Ruger Single Action Hammer and Trigger
Shims Installation Instructions These shims are sized for all Ruger Single Action Revolvers
(except the Bearcat) They will work on most RSA clones. General Instructions Make
Sure your Firearm is Unloaded! It is important that you understand the factory instructions concerning disassembly of
the Ruger Single Action Revolver as installing shims will require you to remove the Back Strap and Trigger Guard from the
Frame. Hammer Shims Our shims installed on the left side of the hammer window
will end the Hammer Rubbing the left side of the Frame. The Hammer Rubbing will affect the Power of the Hammer and may
account for Misfires when Lighter than Factory Hammer Spring is used. You may find there is more room than necessary
between the sides of the Hammer and the inside of the Frame in the Hammer Pivot Area. We Suggest that you Measure
the Space on the Left Side of the Hammer (the side the Pawl Pivots On) between the Hammer and the Frame with a Feeler Gauge. This will give you an idea of the proper amount of shims to be installed, making sure to allow some space so no binding
is evident. The Left side is the only side the Large Hammer Shim will fit on some models. Installing a Shim on the
Left Side will move the Hammer to the Center and should solve the problem of the Hammer Rubbing the Upper Left Side and will
take out much of the side play in the Hammer. To Install; Slide the Hammer Pivot Pin to the Right just enough to
allow sliding the shim in the space between the Hammer and the Frame. A small wooden pick is helpful, and the shims are
easier to control with a drop of oil or grease on them to make them stick. Trigger Shims Trigger
Shims can be installed by sliding the Trigger Pivot Pin out the Right Side just far enough to slide a shim in between the
Cylinder Latch and the Trigger,
and making
sure the shim is aligned, slide the Pivot Pin on into the Trigger, but not into the Frame, slide a shim between the Trigger
and the Frame.
Now Align that Shim and the
Trigger Pin can be fully installed and seated .
A
dab of grease or oil on the shim will aid in installation, as will a small wooden pick to aid alignment. Check again
to make certain there is no binding and you are ready for reassembly.
